IFA 2014: US $199 priced Intel based tablet

During IFA 2014 show which kicked off in Berlin yesterday, Lenovo has come up with a rather affordable new 8-inch tablet, the Lenovo Tab S8. Based on Intel Atom processors and running Android 4.4 OS, the new Tab S8 is certainly going to be rather interesting new affordable tablet on the market.

As noted, the Lenovo Tab S8 is designed around an 8-inch 1920x1200 IPS multi-touch screen and powered by Intel's quad-core Atom Z3745 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and with 1.86GHz Turbo.

The rest of the features and specs are not bad either as it comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel rear and 1.6-megapixel front cameras as well as stereo front speakers. As noted, it will run on Android 4.4 OS and also feature 4290mAh battery which should be enough fo up to 7 hours of usage.

Connectivity wise, the Lenovo Tab S8 packs 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and optional LTE. The LTE connectivity will come from Intel's XMMTM 7160 chip.

The precise dimensions of the Lenovo Tab S8 are set at 209.8x123.8x7.9mm and it weighs 299g. It will be avialable in couple of color options including Ebony, Blue, Canary Yellow and White.

While the WiFi-only version of the Lenovo Tab S8 will cost US $199, we are quite sure that 4G/LTE one will be a bit more expensive, but in any case, Tab S8 certainly looks like a great tablet for that amount of money.
