ASUS unveils the Memo Pad 7 with quad-core Atom

IFA 2014: Premium body and €200 price tag

ASUS has come up strong at this year IFA 2014 show in Berlin unveiling a wide range of products including the all new ASUS Memo Pad 7, a new 7-inch tablet with premium body and quite affordable €200 price tag.


Based around a 7-inch 1920x1200 resolution IPS touchscreen, the ASUS Memo Pad 7 features a rather premium body for a €200 priced tablet. The body is 8.3mm thick and weighs a mere 269g, mostly due to 50 percent duralumin and 34 percent fiberglass materials.




The heart of the Memo Pad 7 is Intel's quad-core Atom Z3560 quad-core processor clocked at up to 1.83GHz and featuring PowerVR G6430 457/533MHz GPU part. The SoC is paired up with 2GB of RAM and it will have either 16 or 32GB of internal flash storage expandable via microSD card slot.

The rest of the features include 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front one, stereo SonicMaster speakers and standard connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth and Miracast. It will be available in three colors, Gentle Black, Rose Champagne and Burgundy Red.




According to ASUS, the new Memo Pad 7 tablet will be available early Q4 this year and should come in WiFi-only and LTE versions with a price tag starting at €200.
