A bad day for Microsoft Azure

Shut down for a few hours

With their Azure Cloud Microsoft is offer a variety of cloud services. The software giant meanwhile has a large customer basis and most of them had to experience the difficulties, associated with downtime on 18th of August.

Yesterday, 18th August, Microsoft Azure experienced a lot of interruption for many users all over the world. This image shows how big was the problem during the most important interruptions of all:

The problem was solved in a few hours, but in the meantime a lot of users were unable to use their cloud applications such as virtual machines, storage and restore systems, and more. To make things worse, they didn't have any kind of information about what was going on, of when the service was going to be back online.

Cloud based applications are certainly a great option, especially on the work field, but using a cloud service can also create problems. When it comes to private use, we can suffer a few problems, but on the work field this could create bigger repercussions. Generally speaking, you shouldn't use cloud based applications for something vital.
