Sierra Studio might come back?

A new website just before Gamescom

Just a few days from the opening of Gamescom, which will occur between 13th and 17th August in Cologne, Germany, and it looks like Activision might bring back to life a famous software house of the 90s, Sierra.

For those who spent their teenage years in the 90s playing videogames, Sierra is definitely a name that rings a bell. In the point-and-click genre, Sierra was one of the most important players during the last decade of the 20° century. Unfortunately, they weren't able to keep up to what's new on the market, and after the year 2000 they almost disappeared.

In 2004 the studio was acquired by Vivendi, that kept the Sierra name until 2008, because it was more famous. In 2008 Activision bought the studio, and they used its resources for many of their titles.

Today it looks like Activision wants to bring Sierra back to life: they created a website names Sierra Games, with a presentation video on it, that makes us think that Gamescom could be the best stage for Sierra's comeback. We will let you know more as soon as the Gamescom opens.
