Google to democratize HTTPS

By forcing the webmasters to get a certification

The HTTP protocol is not particularly safe, that's why the HTTPS protocol has been created, along with the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and the TLS (Transport Layer Security), which are both coding methods to encrypt data, to make the surfing on the web safer.

These methods allow the user to safely surf on the web, especially during bank operations. Unfortunately, the most part of the websites don't use this system yet, but Google is trying to force them, by adding it to its research algorithm.

It's been a few months already, since they added the HTTPS protocol to the algorithm, to distinguish between HTTP and HTTPS websites. As now, only 1% of the websites are using HTTPS protocol, but the numbers are rapidly growing. In the near future, Google will force the webmasters to pay for the HTTPS certificate, unless they want to be cut out of the results of the most used research engine of the world.

We don't know how much time this transition will require: it will be interesting to see how Google's services will change, with this new protocol inside the algorithm, but we will have to wait for that. What do you think about this move by Google? They are forcing the webmaster for the good of the users, is that right or wrong?
