Electronic Arts has announced that its Battlefield Hardline game has been delayed to early 2015, in order to give its development teams more time to develop the game which will ultimately lead to a better product.
Writing on the Battlefield Blog, Karl Magnus Troedsson, DICE vice president and group GM, said that the company launched Battlefield Hardline beta during E3 in order not to only show the game but also let gamers actually play and the result was that the Vesceral Games team learned a lot from those millions of players and apparently decided to think about other possibilities and ways to push Hardline innovation further and make the game even further. Apparently, in order to get those things into the game, the team needed more time, which is the main decision behind the delay.
In the same blog post, Troedsson noted that Visceral Games and EA/DICE will focus more on multiplayer innovation and use ideas that came direct from the community in order to "evolve the cops and criminals fantasy into a truly unique Battlefield Multiplayer experience." He also noted that single player will get a lot of attention as well since it wants to improve the game's stability, which was a big issue for Battlefield 4. According to Troedsson, this has been a focus of the team since day one and extra time will definitely be used to continue to optimize the game for a stable launch.
Unfortunately, EA/DICE did not reveal the new precise date for the launch of the Battlefield Hardline which was previously scheduled to launch on October 21st on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.
