Western Digital rolls out 4TB WD Green HDD

For low power systems

Western Digital has rolled out a new hard disk drive that will be a part of its Green series aimed at energy-efficient, high-capacity systems, the WD40EZRX, WD Green 4TB.

Based on a 3.5-inch form-factor and featuring the SATA 6Gbps interface, the new WD Green 4TB spins at variable sub-6,000RPM, has 64MB of cache and features WD's acoustic management. As it is aimed at low-energy, or energy-efficient systems that need a big amount of storage, the new WD Green 4TB draws around 3.3W on average with peak draw of 4.5W and idle at 0.4W.

The new WD Green 4TB, WD40EZRX should be available immediately with a price of around US $180.
