The X470 Gaming M7 AC from MSI is a high-end motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to X370 Gaming M7 ACK, the updated model comes with a different heatsink design and less plastic covers. At a first glance the X470 Gaming M7 AC looks very similar to the Intel Z370 version with the same naming.
The MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC is based on an ATX form factor with four DIMM slots. There is RGB backlight underneath the PCH cooler and two out of the three full-sized PCIe slots have been equipped with steel-reinforcements.
In the case of storage connectivity there are six SATA6 ports and all of them have been angled. Apart from that you get two M.2 slots allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. The first M.2 slot is placed in the middle of the motherboard while the second one is in the bottom area. Both SSDs can be placed underneath MSI's heatspreader for M.2 SSDs, which meanwhile goes by the name FROZR. The M.2 Shield FROZR is an improved version of the previous model and it's linked to the heatsink on the motherboard.
Like for the X470 Gaming Pro Carbon that we have seen a few days ago, the upcoming MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC sports two 8-pin EPS power connectors. One of the most distinctive features of the MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK was the audio cover that is missing on this upcoming model.
