Gigabyte already has a wide portfolio when it comes to graphics cards but that didn’t stop them from launching yet another model. The new card belongs to the new premium AORUS line of graphics card which goes by the name "GeForce GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition" and it delivers solid performance.


An improved version of the WINDFORCE Stack Cooling module has been used on the new Gigabyte’s high-end GeForce GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition graphics card. The card features a triple slot heatsink and a dense aluminum fin stack that has been combined with three fans. The entire cooler has been covered with black and on the back side there is a solid back plate featuring the Aorus logo.

Since all the latest Gigabyte Aorus motherboards have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, also on this graphics card there are several LEDs on both sides. According to Gigabyte, thanks to the use of premium-grade chokes and capacitors the card also ensures superior durability for a longer system lifespan. Checking the specs we see that the GeForce GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition comes factory-overclocked to 1784MHz/1936MHz Core/Boost clocks, while the GTX 1080 Founders Edition works at 1607MHz/1733MHz Core/Boost frequencies. This is pretty good factory OC and the new AORUS's graphics card is probably of the highest overclocked GTX 1080 available so far.

When it comes to outlets we find the usual three DisplayPorts 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b connector and one dual-link DVI port. So far Gigabyte has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their GeForce GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition but we are sure we will know more during next days.
