Gigabyte shows Skylake Brix at CeBIT 2016

Skylake CPU and GTX 950M GPU

Gigabyte has unveiled a prototype mini-PC Brix system at CeBIT 2016 show which was based on Intel's Skylake CPU paired up with Geforce GTX 950M graphics card.

Spotted at CeBIT 2016 showfloor by Computerbase.de and called the Brix Skylake UHD, the new mini-PC from Gigabyte has an aluminum cube design and measures at 220x110x110, or 2.6L. These dimensions make it larger than Intel's recently unveiled Skull Canyon high-end NUC, but should provide more performance punch thanks to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M MXM GPU.

Still in prototype phase, the Gigabyte Brix Skylake UHD mini PC has a total of three M.2-slots, two of which support NGFF 2280 SATA/PCIe x4 interface and one that supports NGFF-2230 for WiFi/BT module and has two SO-DIMM DDR4-2133 slots.

The rest of the features include Intel's dual band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2, Gigabit Ethernet, one HDMI and three mini DisplayPort outputs, one USB 3.1 Type-C, one USB 3.1 Type-A and three USB 3.0 ports.

This is not the final design so specifications could change and Gigabyte did not reveal any details on the actual Skylake CPU that has been used but hopefully they will get it to market soon.
