In addition to standard Intel Z97 and H97 Express based motherboards, the TUF versions and the ASUS ROG motherboards, ASUS has also unveiled the new version of its Workstation edition motherboard, the ASUS Z97-WS.


The ASUS Z97-WS is designed for those that are setting up a server system or looking for a motherboard which has all the input/output slots, ports and connectors seen on the Z97-Deluxe but with workstation class components.

It comes with 4-way PCI-Express slots supplied via PLX switch as well as some exclusive ASUS features like the ASUS ProCool, Dr. Power, Q-Code and features workstation class components like Gold-coated Beat Thermal Chokes, integrated Driver-MOSFET, 12K solid capacitors, TPU and EPU, DIGI+ DRAM, DIGI+ VRM and dual 8-pin power connectors.

Unlike some motherboards, the Z97-WS features both the SATA Express and M.2 PCIe ports.

According to ASUS, the new Z97-WS should be already available alongside the rest of the Intel Z97 and H97 Express based motherboards from ASUS.
