There have been quite a few rumors regarding Nvidia's mid-range response to AMD, the Geforce GTX 750 Ti that should go directly against AMD's upcoming Radeon R7 series lineup. Today, we have first details regarding such a graphics card including a few benchmarks that puts the GTX 750 Ti at around 10 percent above the GTX 660 Ti.
Lining up with earlier rumors, the GTX 750 Ti is based on a revised GK106 GPU, packs 960 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs, 80 TMUs and works at 1033MHz base, 1098MHz Boost GPU clocks while 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface ended up clocked at 6GHz. Nvidia partners have been apparently given a green light to come up with custom versions from day one and judging by these early reviews, including 3DMark 11, 3DMark Fire Strike and a couple of games, it is around 10 percent faster than the Geforce GTX 660 Ti.
The new GTX 750 Ti should fit the in the below US $199 price range which is quite interesting considering that the GTX 660 Ti was originally priced at US $299 and currently selling at around US $229-249, as it clear that Nvidia is feeling the pressure from AMD.
The new GTX 750 Ti also supports SLI and needs a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector. Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the actual release date and that US $199 price tag can easily change depending on the performance of AMD's R7 series.
