Sony has announced a new line of VAIO notebooks, the VAIO Fit. Featuring sleek look with aluminum casing, the VAIO Fit will be available in 14-inch and 15-inch versions.

Interestingly enough, the entire series will range from entry-level offer with a US $549 price tag all the way up to the high-end market with a US $2,210 price tag. The entire line is built with aluminum casing and targets students and business users who are looking for a premium desgn at an entry-level price point. The entry-level models will be known as the Fit 14E and Fit 15E while premium models will lack the "E" designation. The Fit lineup will use Exmore R cameras, ClearAudio technology, while high-end models will also feature Blu-ray drives.

Spec wise, the new Fit line will be equipped with anything from entry-level Pentium chips to 3rd-gen Core i3, i5 and i7 chips as well as Intel integrated HD 4000 GPU or Nvidia GT 740M with either 1 or 2GB of VRAM. It will run on Windows 8 OS and be available with either 14-inch 1600x900 or 15-inch 1920x1080 screen, most likely reserved for high-end SKUs. It also comes with backlit keyboard and will be available with touchscreen options.

Unfortunately, the Fit line is currently only available in Japan but are on route to US something during this month. Europe might see them as well and they will joined by Sony's refreshed Vaio L, Tap 20 and T15.
