Yesterday we have posted several benchmarks about the upcoming Ryzen 7 2700X series based on the Zen+ architecture. Meanwhile, the Spanish site El Chapuzas Informatico has posted some benchmarks of what appears to be the Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. This CPU should be the refresh of the current Ryzen 5 1600.

El Chapuzas Informatico has posted a CPU-Z screenshot that show a CPU with a base clock speed of 3.40GHz and a maximum clock speed of 3.90GHz. Furthermore CPU-Z reveals a maximum TDP of 65 Watt. The current Ryzen 5 1600 comes with a base clock speed of 3.20GHz and a maximum clock of 3.60GHz.

The site has posted few synthetic benchmarks as well like 3DMark Fire Strike, Cinebench R15 and few others. Overall the upcoming Ryzen 5 2600 appears to be a good competitor of Core i7-8700K although the Intel chip looks always a bit faster. Before going through the scores, we have to point out that the AMD chip has been tested with slower ram compared to the Intel chips.

For example in 3DMark Fire Strike and Cinebench R15 the difference between the two processors is around 10%. In other words, the Core i7-8700K sits in between the Ryzen 5 2600 and Ryzen 7 2700X. Furthermore according to El Chapuzas, the CPU has been overclocked up to 4.09 GHz with 1.392 voltage. This result has been achieved on a X370 motherboard which was a bit unstable for more benchmarks.

AMD's refreshed Ryzen lineup should launch next week and we will keep an eye on it.
