A few months ago, Acer announced that their Predator X27 4K HDR monitor is going to be be delayed until the first quarter of current year. We heard a similar story about the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ as well and it looks like that AU Optronics is having several issues combining together local dimming with HDR10 standard.

As we already mentioned the Swift PG27UQ monitor is going to be equipped with a 27-inch panel and 3840 x 2160 Pixel resolution. There will be one HDMI 2.0 connector and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. The display is based on an IPS panel with 100.000.000:1 contrast ratio and 1000 cd/m2 brightness. ASUS is marketing this display as a gaming monitor and it supports G-Sync. The refresh rate is set to up to 144Hz and the grey-to-grey response time is set to 4ms.

ASUS has confirmed that the display will achieve 10-bit color depth using an 8-bit+FRC panel and Quantum Dot screen coating. Furthermore it will offer brighter highlights and deeper blacks than other displays.

On top of the specs there is a very well-built thin frame, which allows for pan, tilt, swivel and height adjustment. So far ASUS has not revealed any details on pricing and with the launch being pushed back, we might have to wait a little while longer to find out what the Swift PG27UQ 4K G-Sync monitor is going to cost.

TFT Central has estimated that the ROG Swift PG27UQ will cost between $2000 and $3000, due to its high-end HDR technology, G-Sync and high refresh rate display. Since each component is rather expensive, the upcoming ROG Swift PG27UQ display might come with a premium price as well.
