During its latest financial report, CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold in over 6 million copies, which does not come as a surprise.
According to to the financial report, the game had a budget of £53 million and managed to sell a total of 6,014,576 copies and 1 million which were activated via GOG. The same financial report reveals that the company had a net profit of £41 million during the first-half of 2015.
The big success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game does not come as a surprise considering that it is probably one of the biggest RPG so far and that it got some impressive review scores. Currently, CD Projekt Red has released 16 free DLCs and two more expansions are currently in development, Heart of Stone and Blood & Wine.
Adam Badowski, Head of Studio at CD Projekt Red, also
issued an open letter saying thanks to fans for support and celebrating those 6 million copies sold in six weeks since the game was launched.
