Very demanding

Futuremark has just updated its 3DMark benchmarking suite and a new Time Spy Extreme 4K routine has been added. Due to the massive 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution, this benchmark is capable of seriously stressing even the most powerful graphics cards. Apart from the new benchmark Futuremark has also implemented bug fixes and improvements.

ML_Mods

Today we have another build from ML_Mods for you. In the past we’ve shared several of his builds and as you might know they always look exceptionally good. Like every day we're showing you a very nice build or from one of our modder friends. As always we will show you the nicest pictures of the build and if possible also the specifications here in the news and the full album with all pictures can be found in our Case Mod Gallery.

Borderlands, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The prequel

The Humble Endless RPG Lands is now live and it includes a few very nice titles from 2K Games. As usual the cost for these bundles is very low. Below you find the list of what's actually included in the bundle.

What about a Vega refresh?

AMD has had two amazing years and the current 2017 is even better due to the big success of Ryzen and Ryzen Threadripper processors. With this two platforms, AMD is now catching up on Intel especially in the retail market. While on the CPU side AMD is becoming stronger, what about their GPUs?

Added support and fixed issues

It seems like we are spending more time updating drivers than playing new games lately. During the past month we have received three new AMD drivers and it's more or less the same with NVIDIA. AMD has released the latest update to their Radeon GPU drivers, the Crimson ReLive Edition 17.10.1. This version should offer better support for The Evil Within 2.

Sleek design

At Computex 2017, Cooler Master presented several new mid-tower cases in order to expand their lineup. Almost half a year later, the manufacturer is going to launch a new model which goes by the name MasterBox MB600L. It looks like this case has received a sleek and clean design as well as a modern interior layout.

With FHD panel

Acer has expanded its monitor lineup once again with a new model featuring a 27-inch, 1920 x 1080 resolution and an VA panel. Furthermore it supports AMD FreeSync and Acer’s so called "Black Boost" feature, which can automatically boost the gamma value and therefore make dark scenarios in games better visible.

For content creators

The X399 SLI Plus is very similar to the more expensive Gaming Pro Carbon. The main difference between these two models regards the metal reinforcements and the number of PCIe x16 slots. While on the X399 Gaming Pro Carbon there are five PCIe x16 slots, on the X399 SLI Plus we find "only" four of them. This motherboard should become available by the end of October.

OpenGL 4.6 and SLI fix on X299

NVIDIA's released its latest GeForce graphics drivers named 387.92. The new drivers are Game Ready for VR title like Arktika 1 and Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within 2. It also has more optimizations for Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Forza Motorsport 7. Last but not least, this drivers adds support for OpenGL 4.6.

In our hardware roundup we post all reviews from the hardware sites around the globe we can find. Apparently we wish you a lot of fun browsing the lists and we hope you're going to enjoy those reviews.

Almost identical to the previous version

Looking at the Z370 lineup from ASUS not much has changed compared to their Z270 offerings. Once again we find ROG, STRIX Gaming, Prime and TUF series motherboards. Compared to the Maximus IX Hero the latest Maximus X Hero sports a few little differences: the first one regards the M.2 heat sink which is finally included in the bundle of the motherboard, and the second one is the back I/O panel that has been "glued" to the ports.

Filling in gaps in the lineup

It looks like EK Water Blocks is working hard again on bringing some new products to the market. We’ve just written about the newly released X-Series of EK-FC Terminals and now there are also two new radiators in the lineup.

I have been looking for this desperately

There is a bunch of different ways out there to connect multiple GPUs in your high-end water cooled rig and one of them is using an EK FC Terminal. EK Water Blocks has finally reworked these blocks, which are either CNC machined from POM Acetal material or cast acrylic and they now allow for different loop configurations.

With Core i7-8700K processor

Meanwhile Intel has finally launched their 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors alongside the Z370 platform. For overclockers this means they can get their hands on a bunch of new hardware, which always something exciting. Overclocker "der8auer" has already posted a max CPU-Z score showing a Core i7-8700K running at 7.3 GHz using the ROG Maximus X Apex motherboard, and the overclocker "Hocayu" managed to set a new DDR4 memory record using the same board.

Designed for extreme overclockers

Looking at the Z370 line-up from ASUS not much has changed compared to their Z270 line-up. There is still the "Code" as well as the “Apex”, which specifically targets extreme overclockers. As it was with the Maximus IX Apex in the beginning, it’s still unclear if this board is actually going to be available to the public or not, since when other vendors launched motherboards, which were basically only made for extreme overclocking it was more of a marketing stunt.

And they are really expensive

After the launch of Intel Coffee Lake we’ve seen different tools for delidding these chips and apart from that many of them have already been tested. So far it looks like delidding Coffee Lake Chips makes a lot of sense if you want to overclock them and keep the temperatures at reasonable levels. On Caseking is now offering de-lidded, and pre-binned Coffee Lake chips, which have been equipped with an aftermarket heat spreader that’s been made from 99.9% silver, specifically for Core i7-8700K chips. Due to all the work behind, these chips come with a really steep price.

Core i7 is still missing

A few days ago Intel has unveiled their Coffee Lake CPUs but can you actually buy a Coffee Lake CPU? The short answer is yes although you can't buy all the different SKUs yet. Intel's new processors are available in almost all the e-tail stores around the globe, as long as you don't want the flagship Core i7-8700K. In that case, you have to wait few weeks or even months.

Optimized for Intel Coffee Lake processors

G.Skill has announced their TridentZ memory kit, which has been designed and tested in combination with Intel's Coffee Lake processors. When a new CPU architecture hits the market memory vendors usually conduct extensive stability tests before launching their kits and G.Skill is certainly no exception in that regard.
