First mini-ITX model

Biostar has been the first manufacturer to show AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. A few months ago, during an event in Taiwan, Biostar has shown a few details on an upcoming mini-ITX model, that is based on AMD’s AM4 chipset. Meanwhile there are all the details on the Racing X370-GTN motherboard.



Compatible with AMD X399 chipset

There's not a day that we’re not talking about AMD Ryzen. According to a rumor that originated in the SiSoft Sandra database, AMD is already working on a new high-end Ryzen CPU which will feature 12 cores and 24 threads. Furthermore this new CPU will be compatible with the upcoming AMD X399 chipset.

Soon available

A few days ago, Gigabyte has shown a teaser about the GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme Edition graphics card which is based on the new flagship chip - GP102 - from NVIDIA. While there are still no details available, another card has meanwhile been outlined with pictures.


Price set to 5000 dollars

Dell has expanded its monitor lineup with a new model which features a 32-inch panel with 7680 x 4320 resolution. According to Dell the display covers 100 percent of the Adobe RGB, sRGB and Rec709 color spectrum and a few other color standards. The new Dell UP3218K is one of the first 8K monitors that you can buy.


Price going up also in 2017

If you’ve been looking for new DRAM for your rig during the past months you might have noticed that prices were on the rise continuously. TrendForce has published their quarterly report explaining the different factors that contribute to this development. Between September and October of 2016 the average price of 4GB DRAM memory has increased by 20% jumping from 14.5$ to 17.5$.


Another benchmark for the Vulkan API

Futuremark has just updated its 3DMark benchmarking suite and this new build adds Vulkan support. There is now an API Overhead feature test to compare Vulkan, DirectX 12, and DirectX 11. The Vulkan test requires compatible video drivers with Vulkan support. The new update also brings some additional fixes and improvements.


Four models available

Corsair has announced their new Corsair One systems. They are supposed , a new lineup of pre-built systems designed to deliver high performance in a tiny package. The design remind us a bit of a Mac Pro, however Corsair has added several vents to improve the airflow and a few LEDs can be found as well.

Featuring air and water cooling

A few weeks ago, MSI was teasing its Gaming X version of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards. With the new series, MSI offers three different custom air cooled GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cards, a Sea Hawk model with a preinstalled Corsair CLC all-in-one water cooler, and a Sea Hawk EK card with an water cooler from EK Water Blocks.


RGB memory controlled via software

RGB Fusion is available on many Gigabyte and Aorus Gaming Series Motherboards. Whether you plan to use an Intel or AMD platform, RGB Fusion is available on several Gigabyte motherboards and features a whole set of lighting options. RGB Fusion from Gigabyte is the first motherboard software to support lighting control for the recently launched Corsair Vengeance RGB memory kits.


Small differences in clock speeds

A few days ago, EVGA has shown three custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards. The new pixel accelerators include the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 and the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition. While there are still no details on the availability, there is more information about the clock speeds.


Compatible with full cover GPU water blocks

EK is releasing a terminal for their full cover GPU water blocks. This new terminal features two G1/4" angled adapter fittings that can be rotated by 90°. These two fittings allow flexibility without any limit since both ports can be rotated 360°.

No benchmarks so far

Usually, when the US American overclocker Vince K|ngp|n Lucido posts an overclocking result it is something serious that is worth reporting. This time he used one NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti card and pushed the clock speeds beyond 3 GHz. Although he didn’t post any scores on HWBot or even in the Futuremark database for that matter, we’re pretty confident that we might see some very impressive scores appear rather sooner than later.


Support for Mass Effect: Andromeda

Following the launch of AMD’s ReLive 17.3.2 Beta drivers there is already a new WHQL update available. This release is supposed to bring performance improvements to a few games as well as optimizations for Mass Effect: Andromeda and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands.


DDR4 rainbow unicorns from Corsair

Corsair is finally bringing RGB lighting to their Vengeance DDR4 memory lineup. Memory modules were some of the very last components allowing for RGB lighting, since it can be quite tricky to create a way to control the color on the DIMMs. At the moment the company is offering four models but we will see more quite soon.


Improves memory compatibility

AMD has released new AGESA Microcode for their Ryzen CPUs which should improve RAM compatibility on their AM4 platform. The new code should soon be available in new UEFI/BIOS files for AM4 motherboard.


Chinese website jumps the gun

According to leak from the Chinese forum tieda.baidu, there are what appear to be the first benchmarks on the upcoming AMD Ryzen 5 CPUs which should become available next month. The forum post shows the performance of the hexa core CPU in CPU-Z and Cinebench R15 benchmarks. According to what we have heard so far, AMD will introduce four different CPUs, including two six-cores and two quad-cores. This way AMD is planning to attack Intel's Core i5 CPU series lineup.
