A few days ago, Gigabyte has shown a teaser about the GTX 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme Edition graphics card which is based on the new flagship chip - GP102 - from NVIDIA. While there are still no details available, another card has meanwhile been outlined with pictures.
It appears to be identical to the Gigabyte GTX 1080 D5X 8G. The cooler used on the Gigabyte GTX 1080 D5X 8G is based on the WINDFORCE Stack Cooling module which can be found on several Gigabyte graphics cards. The card features a dual slot heatsink and a dense aluminum fin stack that has been combined with three fans, which is typical for the WINDFORCE cooler. The entire cooler has been kept in black and there is a solid back plate presenting the Aorus logo.
Since all the latest Gigabyte Aorus products have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, this graphics card might come with several LEDs on both sides as well. On top of that there might be premium-grade chokes and capacitors for an increased lifespan. Although the folks over at overclockers.ru didn't mention any details about the clocks, we believe that the card will come with some factory overclock.
As of today there is no date available when this card will hit the shelves of your local retailer. According to a reddit user, the new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti AORUS will be available in mid-April. We also expect that Gigabyte is going to launch yet another version, which might go by the name GeForce GTX 1080 Ti like the Waterforce.
