A little gemYesterday Intel launched their Coffee Lake desktop parts and meanwhile there are already a couple of impressive overclocking results on HWBOT. At the moment in the first place we find the chinese overclocker "Kovan Yang" who was able to achieve a monstrously high 7'405 MHz using the new Core i7-8700K CPU. Meanwhile also the well-known overclocker Roman "der8auer" Hartung has come across yet another gem hitting 7'300 MHz.
Classified K, FTW K and mATXThis time EVGA isn't the last one amongst the larger motherboard vendors to announce their Z370 motherboards. Like in the past, when a new chipset was launched, EVGA prepared three new models. This time they've come up with the Z370 Classified K, the Z370 FTW K and the Z370 Micro and therefore there are two ATX and one mATX model. We’d expect to see a mini-ITX model at a later stage as well.
More benchmarks soonThere have already been plenty of leaks from other websites regarding Intel's upcoming Coffee Lake CPUs. Today we can finally show some of our own results. A few months ago we have started testing all the recent CPUs regarding a variety of programs and benchmarks and meanwhile we’re starting to add Coffe Lake chips.
NGEN-PCsToday we have another build from NGEN-PCs for you. In the past we’ve shared several of his builds and as you might know they always look exceptionally good. Like every day we're showing you a very nice build or from one of our modder friends. As always we will show you the nicest pictures of the build and if possible also the specifications here in the news and the full album with all pictures can be found in our Case Mod Gallery.
Based on mATX and mini-ITX form factorsIn addition to the four ATX we’ve already been talking about previously in the news, ASRock is going to release micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards as well, when it comes to the Z370 chipset. Apparently, also these boards look very similar to their current Z270 counterparts. Nevertheless, let’s have a looks at what we can find out looking at the imagery of the alleged upcoming Z370M Pro4 and the Z370M-ITX/ac.
Even better lookingThe Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon from MSI is a mid-range motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to the previous model, which goes by the name Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon, we see a similar color scheme - as the name suggests - but a reworked layout and a new design for all the heatsinks. Although the design has been improved, we still see cheap plastic covers all over the motherboard.
Out there in a few daysAt Computex 2017 Cooler Master celebrated their 25th anniversary by revealing two redesigned cases: the Cosmos and the HAF. The upcoming MasterCase H500P is based on the same design that the old HAF cases were known for but it now features RGB lighting, a cleaner layout and extended water cooling support.

Getting a Coffee Lake CPU might be trickyIntel is expected to launch its 8th generation of CPUs in just a couple of days, but early adopters might have to wait more than just few days. It's not the first time that Intel is facing supply issues at launch and according to Sweclockers we might have to wait until mid-December until these chips are widely available.
Compatible with up to four M.2 SSDsASUS has released its Hyper M.2 x16 PCIe add-in-card, which is a daughter-board that can be equipped with four M.2 SSDs. We have already seen this card in many pictures and videos lately and now it’s finally available. This is a VROC (Virtual RAID on CPU) card and it can be used in VROC modes on compatible motherboards.
Revealed by e-tailerThe Swedish online e-tailer Inet has listed an unannounced ASUS motherboard, which goes by the name ROG Strix B350-I Gaming. This motherboard looks like a downsized version of the ROG Strix B350-F Gaming but it also sports features that can be found on high-end motherboards. For example there is a SupremeFX audio chip as well as the same M.2 heatsink that we can find on the ROG Strix Z270I Gaming.
First MSI X299 microATX modelAvailable in OctoberCoffee Lake will definitely not work on Z270A downgrade from the Gaming Pro CarbonThe X399 SLI Plus is very similar to the more expensive Gaming Pro Carbon. The main difference between these two models regards the metal reinforcements and the number of PCIe x16 slots. While on the X399 Gaming Pro Carbon there are five PCIe x16 slots, on the upcoming X399 SLI Plus we find "only" four of them. This motherboard should soon be available at an attractive price point.
Comes with AMD RAIDXpert packageOne of the most interesting features about AMD's X399 platform is the fact that there are 64 PCIe lanes. While 4 lanes are dedicated to the chipset, the other 60 lanes are for PCIe devices such as graphics cards, a sound card and apparently NVMe SSDs. When AMD launched Ryzen Threadripper, support for NVMe RAID was missing on this platform. Nevertheless it looks like AMD did it’s homework and meanwhile the X399 platform is capable of handling NVMe RAID.
Up to 45%The current year has been a great one for motherboard manufacturers since both Intel and AMD have released new platforms. Intel for that matter has released their 200-series and X299 motherboards, while AMD has shown AM4 and TR4 based platforms. For the consumers there is now a lot of different products to choose from.
