The current year has been a great one for motherboard manufacturers since both Intel and AMD have released new platforms. Intel for that matter has released their 200-series and X299 motherboards, while AMD has shown AM4 and TR4 based platforms. For the consumers there is now a lot of different products to choose from.
According to a report from DigiTimes, Asustek has increased their motherboard market share to about 45%. Furthermore the company is dominating the high-end markets like US, Europe and even in the Asia Pacific markets, where gaming has become increasingly popular as well, ASUS is growing. More in detail, ASUS is dominating in Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore markets.
When it comes to total market shares ASUS in the Asia Pacific region currently serves 70% of the high-end Intel X299 demand, while in the mainstream market where Intel’s Z270 based offerings dominate, ASUS is selling about 60% of all motherboards. ASUS expects motherboard shipments to continue increasing in Q4 2017 and Q1 2018, due to the release of Coffee Lake.
