Conclusion

  • Digitec X3000 standing
  • Outer packaging lying
  • ASUS STRIX 1080 A8G Gaming graphics card
  • Wiring/Cable management

The Digitec X3000 is an overall very reasonable gaming PC, which comes at an attractive price point. At the heart there is an ASUS STRIX graphics cards and in combination with all the other components a very reasonably performing and efficient system has been created. Apart from that the noise levels it produces can be described as very silent in idle and audible under load, which is reasonable as well. Furthermore the design that’s kept in black with red illuminated fans which makes the system interesting to look at. Thanks to the side window the powerful graphics card is visible as well.

In comparison to our reference system the Digitec X3000’s performance deviates within the margin of error – which is +/-2%. Therefore the 2D as well as 3D capabilities are on the expected levels. The Intel Core i7-7700K offers plenty of performance at a still reasonable price point and the ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 graphics cards is even capable of running most recent games at 2160p (UHD) resolution. Therefore this system is more than capable enough to run every single game out there smoothly at the currently most common resolutions, which are 1080p (FullHD) and 1440p (WQHD).

If you first turn your X3000 on you’ll be guided through the setup assistant of Windows 10 Home. Once that is done you’ll notice that there is zero bloat ware on this system, which means you won’t have any software eating up resources in the background – which is a good thing for apparent reasons.

What could really be improved is the packaging this particular PC was shipped in. Looking at it we really get the impression that money was saved where ever possible. We would really like to see the interior of this system bolstered using for instance air cushions, which would great help reducing the DOA risk (Dead on Arrival).

What we liked is the fact that Digitec’s X series lineup consists of several different models. Should you be looking for a reasonably price gaming PC then the X series are a safe bet. Overall the Digitec X3000 earns 4 out of 5 stars.

The Digitec X3000 gaming PC is currently available at Digitec for a price of CHF 2099.-
