During CES 2017, Phanteks unveiled two prototypes which went by the name Project 217 and Project 217S. Now, several months later, the company is ready to launch an improved version of these two new cases. The Evolv Shift and the Evolv Shift X are meant to house systems to put into your living room and therefore feature a small footprint. Although the Evolv Shift X might look quite big, both cases are built for mini-ITX motherboards.


Three new models

EVGA is the last one amongst the motherboard vendors to announce their X299 motherboards. Like in the past, when a new chipset was launched, EVGA has prepared three new models. This time they have come up with two E-ATX form factor ones, which go by the name X299 Dark and X299 FTW K as well as a mATX X299 Micro.


New Cosmos and HAF cases

At Computex 2017 Cooler Master are celebrating their 25th anniversary, revealing two new redesigned cases: the Cosmos and the HAF. Although they are both based on the same old design, they now features RGB functionality, a clean layout and extended water cooling support.


A little gem

Although it is expected that Kaby Lake-X is going to be launched very soon well-known overclocker Roman "der8auer" Hartung has found yet another little gem. During the "Performance Matters - Helium Night" at Computex Taipei, the overclocker der8auer was able to achieve a monstrously high 7'562 MHz overclock using the new Kaby Lake-X Core i7-7740K CPU and an ASUS Rampage VI Apex.


First ASUS X399 motherboard

It looks like AMD and Intel are competing head to head with high-end desktop platforms at this year’s Computex. During the show, ASUS has unveiled the first AMD X399 motherboard which is compatible with the upcoming AMD Threadripper processors. According to the name this new model belongs to the high-end series.


Two new ROG Rampage VI

During Computex 2017, two more ASUS X299 motherboard have been pictured by our friends from Expreview. This time ASUS has unveiled the ROG Rampage VI Extreme and the ROG Rampage VI Apex, both feature an E-ATX form factor with several PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and M.2 slots.

MSI has also shown their first batch of X299 motherboards for Intel's Basin Falls platform during Computex. Meanwhile there are quite a few pictures available online. So far MSI is presenting four new ATX models based on the same PCB and one E-ATX motherboard.


Both of them with ATX form factor

During Computex 2017, two upcoming ASUS X299 motherboard have been pictured by our friends from Techpowerup. This time ASUS has unveiled the TUF X299 Mark 2 and the Prime X299-A, both feature an ATX form factor with eight DDR4 DIMM slots and several M.2 slots.


First X399 motherboards

It looks like AMD and Intel are ready to compete head to head with high-end desktop platforms at this year’s Computex. During the show, ASRock has unveiled the first two AMD X399 motherboards which are compatible with the upcoming AMD Threadripper processors. With the X399 chipset, AMD uses the so called socket SP3r2 LGA (Land Grid Array).


First mini-ITX model - finally!

ASRock has been one of the manufacturers to show AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. A few months ago, during an event in Taiwan, ASRock presented a few details on an upcoming mini-ITX model, that is based on AMD’s AM4 chipset. Meanwhile there are all the details on the X370 Gaming-ITX/AC motherboard.

2025 MHz out of the box

It was simply a matter of time until EVGA would launch their GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Edition. These cards are usually as fast as it gets and therefore the absolute flagship that can be bought. Already a few weeks ago, Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido uploaded a few 3DMark scores in order to show some numbers. Today the card has been unveiled and there are new details.


The most powerful graphics card from MSI

MSI has a new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti with custom design up its sleeve as well. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z is the vendor’s flagship model, featuring a custom PCB and a custom cooler. This model is usually created for performance and extreme cooling enthusiasts, being equipped with a triple-fan cooler. Apart from that there is a new lighting system which allows you to change the color of the LEDs. In other words, the Lightning graphics card are not black and yellow anymore.


Lots of DRAM improvements

Lately the community updates from AMD are a great source to find out what the folks have been working on regarding their Ryzen processors. A while ago we’ve covered that AMD has been rolling out the AGESA v1.0.0.4 update and in the meantime v1.0.0.6 has become available to the motherboard vendors for implementation.


With hybrid liquid cooler

EVGA has posted a teaser regarding their upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid graphics card, which is going to feature a hybrid liquid cooler. According to the latest rumors, this card is supposed to feature a full custom design with an all-in-one liquid cooling unit taking care of the GPU and active cooling for the VRMs.


The first LGA 2066 motherboard from ASUS

Intel’s Basin Falls platform (X299) is just about to be announced. Although Computex 2017 has not yet started, images of an ASUS STRIX X299-E Gaming motherboard have leaked online. This model is aimed at the upper mid-range market and therefore come with quite a bunch of features.


Greek retailer jumps the gun

During the past weeks there were several leaks regarding AMD’s upcoming Threadripper CPUs. This time a Greek online shop has decided to start listing some of the upcoming AMD Threadripper processors, although without price-tags. According to the latest rumors, AMD is supposed to release the Threadripper series CPUs during the Summer.


Three models

Intel's X299 platform is right around the corner and during the upcoming weeks we should see all the new models. Thanks to Videocardz, we can already have a glance at Gigabyte's X299 Aorus Gaming series of motherboards, coming with plenty of new features, a lot of LEDs and an insane number of M.2 slots.
