During Computex 2017, two upcoming ASUS X299 motherboard have been pictured by our friends from Techpowerup. This time ASUS has unveiled the TUF X299 Mark 2 and the Prime X299-A, both feature an ATX form factor with eight DDR4 DIMM slots and several M.2 slots.
The X299 Mark 2 and the X299 Prime X299-A are based on the same PCB. What differs is the color scheme, the audio solution and a few connectors. Both boards come with eight DDR4 DIMM slots. There are three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, two PCIe x1 slots and one PCIe x4 slot. Storage wise there are two M.2 slots on both models. The X299 Mark 2 has been equipped with six angled SATA 6 ports while on the Prime X299-A there are eight angled SATA ports. On the ASUS Prime X299-A there are additional features like a debug display and support for USB 3.1 ports.
At the moment we have only one picture available but we might add more during the next days. The full list of specifications as well as detailed pictures can most likely be expected to surface during the upcoming weeks, since by then the NDA is supposed to be lifted.
