$100k US paid for finding another bug

A few months ago the Spectre security vulnerability was all over the news of all the different tech websites out there. In a nutshell, spectre is the result of branch mispredictions from which a hacker can benefit by gaining access to private data. In the meantime Intel has been working under high pressure to fix as many bugs and issues related to Spectre and one way of doing that was with a bonus to their community in the shape of their Bug Bounty Program.


45 Watts only at lower clock speeds

The official support lists from motherboard vendors are always a good source for some sneak peak information on upcoming products. This time Taiwanese manufacturer ASRock started listing some not yet released chips from AMD and the company has also added some specs.


Higher capacity and lower power draw

According to the latest communication from Samsung, they’ve just launched the fifth iteration of their V-NAND based memory chips for SSDs. By now these chips boast 96 layers and the storage density per chip is 256Gb.


Entry-level ATX motherboard

MK2 revision is just around the corner

A few weeks ago, ASRock introduce its new Phantom Gaming X Radeon Vega graphics cards. During an event in Taipei, ASRock has revealed that they are going to release more products during upcoming months. ASRock will introduce the second generation of Phantom Gaming X GPUs in August.


FreeSync 2 HDR support in latest update

Far Cry 5 has offered HDR support already after the first updates, however Ubisoft has updated the game and they made it compatible with FreeSync 2 HDR as well. In order to make things work, you have to use a Radeon graphics card and a compatible monitor or TV.


Compatible with 32 core HEDT CPU

Gigabyte has finally revealed the first motherboard compatible with Threadripper 2 processors. This particular board comes with a whole bunch of features as well as an exceptionally good looking color scheme. Due this announcement, Gigabyte confirms that there are no plans for X499 motherboards in a near future.


Featuring a black and yellow color scheme

The TUF B360M-Plus Gaming S from ASUS is a mid-range motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to the Prime B360M-Plus, which ASUS unveiled a few months ago, the new model belongs to a higher-end series and packs a few more goodies. Like the name suggests, this new model is based on a micro-ATX form factor.


With 1800R curvature

BenQ has added another monitor with a 31.5-inch panel, 2560 x 1440 resolution and 1800R curvature to its lineup. The display comes with an VA panel from AU Optronics and it's supposed to be HDR compatible.

With AMD Polaris, we have seen fast graphics cards at a rather reasonable price, but miners soon began snapping them up and driving prices higher. Since the situation is bit better now, AMD is apparently looking to improve Polaris lineup with a new series of graphics cards.



The first Big Format Gaming Display

ASUS has officially listed its ROG Swift PG65 Big Format Gaming Display. With BFGD, NVIDIA brings high refresh rates, G-Sync and HDR to 65-inch 4K displays. After that announcement, we knew that ASUS, Acer and HP would be among the first companies to bring out displays supporting this.

With 45W TDP

Back in May AMD mentioned the Ryzen low power CPUs, which means powerful processors with up to 45W TDP. Right after the U-series and the H-series branding, AMD is going to release the E-series. These processors should be designed for OEM use only.


More water blocks soon

A few months later the launch of AMD X470 chipset, EKWB has released a new monoblock for the MSI X470 Gaming M7 motherboard. This monoblock will apparently add water cooling to both the CPU and the VRM, thanks to a huge single water block. The EK-FB MSI X470 M7 RGB Monoblock is compatible with MSI Mystic Light Sync, which will allow you to create neat looking setups thanks to customizable lighting.


RX Vega 64 and Vega 56 soon available

ASRock has added to the Phantom Gaming family of AMD graphics cards two RX Vega models. With the addition of Radeon RX Vega 64 8G and RX Vega 56 8G GPUs, the series fill the gaps. A few months ago the company has added the Radeon RX 500 series, so now with the Vega family they complete the AMD offer.


Compatible with up to four M.2 SSDs

Gigabyte has released its CMT4032 and CMT4034 M.2 x16 PCIe add-in-cards, which are two daughter-boards that can be equipped with up to four M.2 SSDs. While the CMT4032 is compatible with two M.2 SSDs, the CMT4034 can be equipped with four drives. Both cards are compatible with M.2 22110 SSDs.


With up to 2TB capacity

Seagate has shown their BarraCuda SSDs series, which are based on 3D-NAND Flash memory. The BarraCuda drives are available with 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacity. According to Anandtech, pricing will start at $75 USD for the 250GB version and up to $230 USD for the 1TB model. At the moment there isn't a price for the 2TB SSD.


Confirmed by Intel

The number of rumors regarding Coffee Lake that are making it through these days is quite impressive. It's not been long ago that we've last written about alleged clock speeds of Intel's upcoming 9th Gen processors but already today there is new information on the entire upcoming lineup. This time the information comes directly from Intel Ark.


Upcoming Core processors

In the latest microcode update guidance document, Intel may have intentionally unveiled the existence of upcoming Core processors. The microcode update guidance reveals that the Core i5-9400, Core i5-9400T, Core i5-9500, Core i5-9600, and Core i5-9600K are incoming.
