Computex 2014: ASRock's X99 Extreme lineup pictured

ASRock X99 Extreme 6 and 4 coming

Computex 2014 shows has kicked off in its full glory and we had a chance to check out and snap some pictures of ASRock's upcoming Extreme motherboard lineup based on Intel's X99 Express chipset, including the ASRock X99 Extreme 6 and the Extreme 4 motherboards.

As expected, the ASRock X99 Extreme 6 will have a few more features. It will be based on the ATX form-factor and features ASRock's Super Alloy design with XXL aluminum alloy heatsink, premium alloy chokes, Dual-Stack MOSFET, 12K platinum CAPs, DIGI Power 12-phase VRM and Sapphire Black PCB. As expected from Intel's X99 Express chipset, this one will support Intel LGA2011 CPUs with support for quad-channel DDR4 memory in four DIMM slots.

The rest of the features include three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots, and one mini PCI-Express slot, support for AMD 3-way Crossfire and Nvidia 3-way SLI, integrated 7.1-channel Realtek ALC1150 audio, Intel dual Gigabit Ethernet, ten SATA 6Gbps, one eSATA and one ultra M.2 (gen3 x4) ports, ten USB 3.0 and seven USB 2.0 ports, as well as full lineup of ASRock exclusive features like the HDD Saver Technology, Full Spike Protection, Full HD UEFI BIOS and more.

The ASRock X99 Extreme 4 motherboard will have slightly less features but still pack enough to be quite an interesting motherboard in case you are waiting for Intel's new Core i7 LGA2011 CPUs with support for DDR4 memory. It is also based on the ATX form-factor and features ASRock Super Alloy design with the same XXL aluminum alloy heatsink, premium alloy chokes, Dual-Stack MOSFET, 12K platinum CAPs, DIGI Power 12-phase VRM and Sapphire Black PCB.

It features three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, single PCI-Express 2.0 x16 and one PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot. It also features Realtek ALC1150 7.1-channel audio but packs only a single Gigabit Ethernet. It comes with ten SATA 6Gbps ports, one eSATA, one Ultra M.2 (gen3 x4) slots as well as six USB 3.0 and eight USB 2.0 ports.

Unfortunately, ASRock was still not keen on revealing any details regarding the availability date or the price but at least we know that these are coming and are quite ready.
