The AORUS is a new gaming brand by Gigabyte. Nowadays, if you want to satisfy your gamer customers, you must create one of a kind products with unique features, just like ASUS and Dell are doing. Gigabyte entered this market a few weeks ago, and it is finally starting to improve its portfolio.
The new AORUS X3 is a gaming laptop with a 13-inchscreen, available in 3 different configurations. You can either choose between a 13.3-inch display with QHD 2560x1440 resolution, a 13.9-inch QHD screen, or a 13.9” QHD+ 3200x1800 resolution screen. It might be little, but it features an incredible number of pixels.
Whatever model you choose, you get an Intel HM87 chipset motherboard, the Core-i7 4710HQ CPU (2.5/3.5GHz) and a GTX 870M with 6GB of memory. The AORUS X3 looks like a tiny laptop, but it is actually a wild beast and uses 180W of power. As far as RAM is concerned, you can go as high as 16GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, while storage-wise you get two M.2 slots filled with 256/512GB SSDs that can be used in RAID0 mode.
Computex 2014 is definitely the perfect occasion to show off this kind of high-end gaming laptop, and we are quite curious to know how Gigabyte handled cooling on this tiny laptop. It measures 330x263.5x22.9mm and it weighs 1.87kg. Bear in mind that lack of 2.5-inch slots makes it easier to save space and weight, but still it is pretty amazing how little this thing is. We do not know the price yet, but Gigabyte will definitely talk more about the new AORUS X3 during this week.
