Despite the almost imminent release of the first DDR4 memory prototypes, it seems that overclockers have no intention on stopping with the use of DDR3 either, especially when it comes to breaking some records. Computex show has now started and Gigabyte is ready with a new memory record.
There is a new and interesting memory overclocking result reached at the Gigabyte's event at Computex. Overclockers have reached a great result in memory overclocking with some LN2, of course. With the new Gigabyte Z97X-OC Force motherboard, paired with an Intel i7-4770K CPU and Kingston memory, they reached 4500 MHz for memory frequency. The memory is based on Hynix MFR chip with latency set to 14-31-31-63.
Currently on the HWBOT, the World Record is set at 2202 MHz and the frequency is obtained by Dino. The other overclockers in Gigabyte's event could also mark a new record for DDR3 memory.
