Kingmax announces SMG Titan SSD

An affordable Sandforce-based SSD

While its SME Xvalue SSD has been quite popular with the entry-level market, Kingmax has now announced yet another solid state drive, the SMG Titan.

Based on, yet to be detailed, Sandforce controller, SATA 6Gbps interface and available in 64, 128, 256 and 512GB options, the Kingmax SMG Titan will offer sequential read and write performance uof up to 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write while random write performance will be set at up to 75,000 IOPS.

The new Kingmax SMG Titan SSD series features RAISE, Error Correction Code (ECC) and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) technologies in order to provide longer lifespan as well as high level of reliability, according to Kingmax. It also supports NCQ/Trim and will be based on a standard 2.5-inch 7mm thick form-factor.

The new Kingmax SMG Titan SSD series will be backed by three years of warranty but, unfortunately, Kingmax did not share any details regarding the price.
