Google acquires World Lens Translator

Translate instantly through your camera

Google is definitely unstoppable, as, few days ago, the new rumor started which suggest that the giant from Mountain View acquired an interesting app which was already on Play Store, the World Lens Translator.

For those who do not know this app, it can be described as an instant translator that works together with your smartphone camera. You just need to select the starting language and the final language, focus your camera on what you need translated, and you will instantly see those characters changing in the blink of an eye, without taking any pictures and most importantly, without any Internet connection.

The final translation is far from perfect, but it might be really helpful if you find yourself in a foreign country, and you need to know what a traffic sign means, or even the restaurant menu.

Google did not say anything about this acquisition, and you might think they bought this to integrate it into their Google Glass, which would be absolutely amazing, but right now we can't either confirm or deny it.
