Crytek says 8GB of RAM might not be enough soon

Upcoming games might require more

According to Crytek, 8GB of RAM, which is currently considered as a sort of a minimum if you are looking to play games on the PC as well as exactly the amount of RAM both next-gen consoles have might not be enough for upcoming games.

Crytek's US Engine Business Development Manager, Sean Tracy, noted that 8GB of RAM can easily be filled up, especially considering that game developer do not necessary have access to all 8GB of it as next-gen consoles take some of it for OS purposes. He also noted that upcoming games will quite soon hit the 8GB ceiling as his team was already struggling with that on the Ryse: Son of Rome game on the Xbox One.

According to Tracy, this amount of RAM will surely be one of the limiting factors of the next-gen consoles.
