Samsung sells 11 million Galaxy S5 in the first month

Outsells the Galaxy S4

Although it has been heavily criticized for its lack of new features and plastic body, Samsung has managed to sell more than 11 million units of Galaxy S5 smartphones in the first month of availability.

The result is actually quite better than with Galaxy S4, which managed to sell around 10 million units in the first month, despite the fact that Galaxy S4 was much better and much better accepted, compared to the Galaxy S5.

The head of Samsung's mobile business, J.K. Shin, noted for the Wall Street Journal that strong sales should help boost margins and the company market share.

Of course, while it may have outsold the Galaxy S4 in the first month, all is not well with Samsung's latest flagship as now it has a much tougher competition and still has a black cloud over it for minor updates, like finger-print scanner and heart-rate monitor, as well as the all-plastic body.
