Announced back in January, Tegra K1 specification have been known for a while but until yesterday, with the announcement of the Xiaomi 7.9-inch Mi Pad, we have not seen any important devices sporting the new Nvidia SoC and today, we have a set of fresh benchmarks which puts the device against the old Nvidia Tegra 4 as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, leaving them both behind.
In case you missed it earlier, the Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC packs four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and packs 192-core Kepler-class GPU. As detailed earlier, the 64-bit version of the Tegra K1 will come at a later date.
The benchmark results unfortunately come from an unknown device but according to details, that same device is running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, features 4GB of RAM and has a 320ppi display.
The result shows that Tegra K1 is quite a potent little chip, leaving behind the Tegra 4 as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quite well behind in Antutu, 3DMark, BaseMark OS II as well as the plethora of web browsing benchmarks.
The chip looks solid and all we need now is to see a bit more devices sporting it as single tablet device from Xiaomi is certainly not enough.
