OCZ Storage Solutions announces new beta program

For the new ZD-XL SQL release

OCZ Storage Solutions has announced its new beta test program for the new release of the ZD-XL SQL Accelerator and has invited enterprise SSD customers and SQL Server database administrators (DBAs) to participate.


Those DBAs that are looking to accelerate SQL Server workloads with SSD flash or flash caching and have SQL Server data that could be run on the new ZD-XL SQL Accelerator will have a priority in the new beta program while those interested in becoming a ZD-XL SQL Accelerator 1.5 beta tester are invited and welcomed to fill in the online application which you can find below.

The next generation ZD-XL will continue to provide optimized and efficient flash acceleration for the SQL Server with integration of hardware and software elements. It supports SQL Sever 2008 R2 and 2012 version as well as the new 2014 version released on April 1st by Microsoft. The new 2014 version of the SQL Server brought improved storage performance, availability and manageability and the new ZD-XL 1.5 will allow DBAs to use some of the new features including the flash Buffer Pool Extension (BPE) support.

The rest of the ZD-XL SQL Accelerator 1.5 features that are support in the new SQL Server 2014 include VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor, remote flash services, tight integration with SQL Server management as well as the advanced analysis and cache warm-up engine.
