As many of you would probably know, Windows XP reached end of support on 8th April: this important decision, made by Microsoft, opens a lot of competition between “minor” OS that could easily replace Windows XP in an efficient way. Today we present you Zorin OS, which is designed to do exactly that.
Zorin OS is a GNU/Linux distribution, and it's based on Lubuntu 13.10; it uses an LXDE environment, which is very light, something that an old Windows XP user would like very much.
Zorin OS Lite is designed to work on old computers, it features generic stable drivers, its ISO is very light (905 MB), and it offers a simplified environment, so it doesn't overload the system. Even if it's a Lite version, it features every single innovation brought by Zorin OS 8.
Zorin OS Business is a great alternative for Windows XP also the enterprise market. It's very similar to the classic version, but it features more options and compatibility with a lot of applications, and it allows a more efficient network management.
Zorin OS Lite is available for free on the official website, while the Business version is sold for 14€ if you want a DVD, or it costs 8€ if you want to download it. It's not really Linux policy to make you pay for an OS, but we will let you judge if this OS is worth the money or not.
