ASUS has unveiled its new B85-Pro Gamer motherboard which is the first member of its new Gamer line of motherboards aimed for entry-level and mid-range motherboards strictly designed for Gamers. The ASUS Gamer line of motherboards will apparently take on a lot of features from much expensive Republic of Gamers lineup but still remain at an "affordable" price point.
The B85-Pro Gamer motherboard is not just a B85-Pro motherboard with fancy heatsinks as its design takes a lot from the Z87-A book. It feature an 8-phase VRM part, four DDR3 DIMM slots, single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot and one PCI-Express 2.0 x4 slot. It also comes with two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and three plain PCI slots, four SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports, DVI, D-Sub and HDMI outputs as well as premium Intel I217V Gigabit Ethernet controller and SupremeFX audio, all features from much more expensive ROG line of motherboards.
The feature list includes ASUS GameFirst II, which is a software that handles network packet priorities, Gamer's Guardian, a combination of ESD circuits on rear ports, DRAM over-current protection, Ai-Suite 3 and high-grade black solid-state capacitors.
Unfortunately, ASUS still did not reveal any details regarding the price or the precise availability date but we are surely looking forward to more ASUS Gamer series motherboards.
