KnCMiner launches attack on Litecoins

With KnCMiner Titan

KnCMiner is a company specialized in manuifacture of systems dedicated to the mining of the cryptocurrencies and after Neptune, which went after Bitcoins, they have now attacked Litecoins with its Titan system.

The cryptocurrency mining phenomenon is still quite important and as both currency and algorithms multiply it is necessary to find new ways to perform calculations. With Litecoins, the company faced a lighter algorithm named Scrypt, which is very different from the SHA-256 used for Bitcoins.

While the Neptune was able to do 3000GH/s, the Titan system can pull 100MH/s. Although it sounds quite low score, bear in mind that R9 290X Tri-X OC graphics card peaks at 1002KH/s and current champion is the HD 7990 with 1518KH/s while consuming 500W.

The Titan system is currently available for pre-order with a price set at US $9,995 and in the first couple of hours, company managed to sell over 200 models. At the current rate of the Litecoins, it would take about one month in order to justify the investment, which does not sound like a bad deal. Those who pre-order their units should expect the delivery in Q2/Q3 2014.
