MSI announces the Nightblade barebone

The gaming oriented Mini-ITX PC

MSI has unvdeiled a rather surprising new product, which also shows its push to make the MSI Gaming brand quite well known, the Nightblade Mini-ITX gaming PC barebone.

Based on a variation of MSI's well known mini-ITX Gaming series motherboard, a 600W PSU, optional Tower CPU cooler, support for Intel's 4th generation Core CPU and quite a few interesting gaming oriented features, the new Nightblade is definitely an interesting little gaming barebone.

The MSI Z87I Gaming Nightblade motherboard based on the Intel Z87 Express Chipset has support for up to 16GB of DDR3-3000 memory, has 7.1-channel HD audio with Audio Boost and SoundBlaster, E2200 Killer Gigabit Lan, Intel's Wireless-AC 7260, one eSATA, two USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0 ports (in addition to two front USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports), support for one 3.5-inch and/or two 2.5-inch ports (and two mSATA in one 2.5-inch slot), HDMI, DVI and Displayport outputs, clear CMOS button and much more. The main feature is probably a support for dual-channel 290mm long full-size graphics card, like the R9 290X or the GTX 780 Ti.

To be quite honest, MSI designed a rather neat looking case for the Nightblade as well which features a carry handle, red LED lighting as well as dedicated OC Genie button on the front. The precise dimensions are set at 345.8x277.3x175.7mm and it weighs 7.8kg which is definitely why it needs a handle.

According to MSI, the new Nightblade barebone will be available in the second week of March, or shortly after its official unveil at the CeBIT 2014. Unfortunately, MSI was not ready to talk about the price.
