Although it was previously scheduled to launch sometime in the third quarter of 2014, Intel Broadwell, company's first 14nm architecture, is apparently delayed for a full quarter, according to the latest set of slides published by VR-Zone.



The rumor regarding the delay was originally published by Digitimes but now pretty much confirmed by Chinese VR-Zone thanks to a neat new slide. According to the slide, the first Broadwell parts should be expected in the fourth quarter of this year while the rest of the lineup should come sometime in the first quarter of 2015.

In case you missed it before, Intel is preparing for Haswell-refresh parts and it looks like those will be the only mainstream and high-end consumer parts until the end of this year. Of course, the same slide confirms that we will see several Haswell-refresh models in the Q2 2014, including Core i5-4310M, i5-4340M, Core i7-4610M, i7-4810MQ, i7-4910MQ and i7-4940MX.

As far as the mainstream mobile market is concerned, we will see Celeron 2970M, Pentium 3560M, Core i3-4010M, i3-4110M, Core i5-4210M, Core i7-4710MQ and i7-4712MQ processors while the high-end mobile market will get the Core i7-4710HQ, i7-4712HQ and the Core i7-4760HQ CPUs.

The third quarter will be somewhat interesting as, according to slide, Intel plans to release a couple of ultra-low power CPUs aimed to be used with ultrabooks and thin and light notebooks. These include the Y-series CPUs with 11.5W TDP which will get the Core i3-4030Y and the Core i5-4220Y SKUs, as well as the U-series parts, with 15W TDP, which includes the Core i3-4025U, i3-4030U, i3-4120U, Core i5-4210U and the Core i5-4260U SKUs.

As noted, the first Broadwell parts, which should replace the Core i3-4120U, Core i5-4210U and the Core i5-4310U SKUs are expected in Q4 2014, while rest of the mobile Core i3 and i5 U-series lineup will be replaced in Q1 2015.
