Firepower to take over OCZ PSUs

Sounds like a bargain

It is been about a month, that Toshiba announced they are buying out OCZ. In that context Toshiba was solely interested in acquiring OCZ business related to solid state drives, leaving the PSU division for sale. Meanwhile OCZ has found a buyer, whereas the brand new company Firepower Technology is willing to spend enough money to buy the former OCZ PSU business.

Firepower Technology is a privately run company that was founded one month ago. The Owner is paying 850'000 US-Dollar to OCZ in order to take over the entire PSU business. So far it looks like it's well possible, that Firepower Technology might keep selling the PSUs that were built under the roof of OCZ.

Apart from that there are absolutely no news so far how Firepower Technology is going to handle RMA processes. So far users have to hope that the buyout will not have any negative consequences on warranty.

According to our latest information, Firepower will take over all warranties.
