MSI announces new GX70 and GX60 Destroyer notebooks

With AMD R9 M290X graphics

MSI has announced the availability of its new GX Destroyer series of notebooks based on AMD's A10 APU and paired up with the AMD R9 M290X GPU, the new GX70 Destroyer and the GX60 Destroyer.


According to MSI, both new Destroyer notebooks are designed to be the perfect combination of multimedia capability and gaming performance, all thanks to AMD's A10 APU and the R9 M290X GPU.

The GX70 and the GX60 are also first notebooks which will feature MSI's Dragon Gaming Center as well as a gaming shortcut key which maximize performance by performing full system check-up, deals with configurations and closes unnecessary background applications, all to bring maximum performance for games. Both also feature SteelSeries' keyboard customization software which allow for color, lightning effects and other modifications.

As far as the specs go, both the GX70 Destroyer and the GX60 Destroyer will feature AMD's A10-5750 APU clocked at 2.3GHz with 3.5GHz Turbo, AMD Radeon R9 M290X GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, Windows 8.1 OS, 1TB of storage space, Killer E2200 Ethernet, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, bunch of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, 9-cell battery, Steelseries gaming backlit keyboard and pretty much anything you would want from a gaming notebook.

The GX70 Destroyer features a 17.3-inch FHD display, is based on AMD's A76M FCH chipset and paired up with 12GB of DDR3 1600 memory while the GX60 Destroyer comes with 15.6-inch FHD display, is based on AMD's A70M FCH chipset and packs 8GB of DDR3 1600MHz memory.

Both the GX70 Destroyer and the GX60 Destroyer should be available with all major retailers/e-tailers in the USA and will be bundled with Battlefield 4 game. The GX70 Destroyer has a US $1,399.99 MSRP while the GX60 Destroyer has a slightly lower US $1,299.99 price tag.
