According to a fresh set of rumors, it appears that Qualcomm is working hard on a new processor which should blow competition out of the water with its 64-bit compatible eight processing cores.
According to a new report, the new SoC will pack no less than eight Krait64 cores and, although designed in-house at Qualcomm, will be compatibles with ARMv8 architecture. The new SoC should pack up to 4MB of cache and work at up to 2.5GHz. It is also expected that Qualcomm will pair it up with new Adreno 430 GPU, LPDDR3/LPDDR4 memory controller, and various other special purpose hardware.
The new Qualcomm SoC should be made on TSMC's 20nm manufacturing process and should launch as the Qualcomm 810 series SoC. Apparently Qualcomm will make two versions of the SoC, the MSM8994 with integrated baseband and APQ8094 which will require an external baseband chip.
