Mushkin unveils ProSpec SSDs at CES 2014

Enterprise-class with SF-2582 controller

Mushkin pulled out the big guns at Consumer Electronics Shows 2014 in Las Vegas by announcing quite a few new products including the ProSpec enterprise SSD based on LSI Sandforce SF-2582 controller.

To be available in capacities from 100 to 400GB, the new ProSpec SSD from Mushkin features 128-bit AES hardware encryption and come with Mushkin's own Power Safe Technology which provides enhanced power-loss data protection through hardware and firmware based features.

As far as the performance goes, the new ProSpec SSDs have read and write performance of up to 555MB/s and 525MB/s while random 4K performance is at 80K for the 100 and 200GB models and at 42K for the 300 and 400GB ones. Backed by a 3-year warranty, which is a bit short for enterprise drives, the new ProSpec SSDs use standard SATA 6Gbps interface.

Unfortunately, Mushkin did not shed any light regarding the price or the availability date.
