ASUS has already announced its newest ROG SWIFT PG278Q gaming monitor which brings 2560x1440 resolution and support for Nvidia G-Sync but those craving for a bit more pixels would be happy to know that ASUS also announced the new PB287Q, a 28-inch 4K monitor which will have a US $799 price tag.
Based on a 28-inch 4K 3840x2160 panel with 350cd/m² luminosity and 1ms gtg response, the new ASUS PB287Q will be aimed mostly at professionals rather than gamers. It packs same outputs as the ROG Swift, including DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI and MHL and features pretty much the same stand with swivel, tilt, pivot and height adjustments.
The best side of the story is that ASUS is pushing its PB287Q against recently announce Lenovo ThinkVision monitor and has priced it at same US $799, which is also the price of G-Sync enabled ROG SWIFT PG278Q monitor as well. It appears that 4K panels are finally getting a bit cheaper and we can stop drooling over other US $2000+ 4K monitors
