MSI is updating their lineup of their Gaming Series graphics cards. The component as well as system maker has announce, that there will be a new model in the portfolio, which features 6 Gigabyte of GDDR5 memory.
The new card is going to be called MSI R9 280X Gaming 6G and it will be based on AMD's Hawaii silicon. As far as specs go, there will be a core clock of 1'000 MHz and a boost clock of 1'050 MHz. The 6 Gigabyte GDDR5 memory will run with reference clocks of 6'000 MHz and they will be connected to the chip through a 384 Bit wide memory interface.
Apparently this new card will also feature the latest Twin Frozr IV Advanced cooler, which allows for low operating temperatures as well as low noise levels. In this case there are two fans with a diameter of 10 centimeters, which take care of providing a big fin stack with pelnty of fresh air. Apart from that there are several heatpipes, which are taking care of efficient heat transport.
So far it's expected, that MSI will be presenting these cards during this years CES 2014, which is about to open it's doors in a few days on the 7th of January.
