Battlefield 4 Mantle patch delayed to January

Confirmed by AMD

AMD made a lot of noise regarding the new Mantle API but unfortunately, there are already some problems with it as the scheduled patch for EA/DICE Battlefield 4, which should bring Mantle support, is delayed to January, according to a report from Polygon.

In case you missed it, thanks to a good cooperation between AMD and EA/DICE, Battlefield 4 should be the first game that will show the advantages of AMD's Mantle API. Although AMD was quite confident that we will see the patch before the end of this year, it appears that there are some problems with it and we will not see it before January.

Polygon.com managed to get a quick statement from an AMD representative and the delay really does not come as a surprise considering how many problems does Battlefield 4 currently has.

Quote:
After much consideration, the decision was made to delay the Mantle patch for Battlefield 4. AMD continues to support DICE on the public introduction of Mantle, and we are tremendously excited about the coming release for Battlefield 4! We are now targeting a January release and will have more information to share in the New Year.
