LEPA brings GM and BM series PSUs to Europe

Interesting set of features and high-quality design

After initial market launch in 2011, LEPA has managed to successfully establish itself in Europe with proven technologies, durable components and price-performance ratio and has become a quite popular brand in the past few years. Today, the company has launched its third generation of power supply units, the new GM and BM series that will bring an advanced cooling system and a high-performance design for gaming systems as well as a neat new feature called the Q-Brick rubber frame.

Both the new GM and the BM series will comply with the latest desktop PSU standards, the ATX12V V2.4 and thus feature support for Intel's Haswell C6/C7 energy-saving modes. Designed for performance systems, the new LEPA PSUs feature a single +12V rail design that delivers at least 96 percent of the total power. These PSUs, according to LEPA, feature high-quality components and moder PSU circuit which should minimize power losses and with peak efficiency of 92 percent the GM series is 80PLUS Gold certified while at up to 88 percent, the BM series has to settle with 80PLUS Bronze certification.

Both series have a couple of features that should provide lower noise when compared to the competition so the fan on both GM and the BM series is based on hydraulic bearing. In 700W models and above, LEPA implemented larger 13.5cm fans providing higher airflow at lower speeds thus producing lower noise. Other feature for both the GM and BM series is the new Q-Brick rubber frame, a rubber frame that covers an entire PSU and reduces vibrations thus lowering noise even furter. Apparently, both will ship with both red and black frame.

LEPA also equipped both series with semi-modular cable management and with 700W models, PSUs from GM and BM series will feature four PCI-Express connectors for multi-GPU systems.

The new LEPA GM Series (MaxGold) will be available in 500, 600, 700 and 800W versions while the BM series (MaxBron) will be available in 450, 550, 700, 800 and 1000W models.
