ASUS announces Xonar U7 Echelon 7.1 sound card

USB-based compact 7.1-channel USB sound card

ASUS has announced a new addition to its Xonar sound card lineup, the ASUS Xonar U7 Echelon Edition 7.1 USB sound card that will retain the high audio quality of the award-winning Xonar U7 sound card but also add the military-inspired camouflage patter unique to the Echelon lineup.

The new ASUS Xonar U7 Echelon Edition 7.1-channel USB sound card also packs some unique ASUS features including Sonic Radar for in-game sound visualization as well as the Sonic Studio Pro for fine control of every audio feature.

In addition to those unique ASUS features, the new Xonar U7 Echelon also features 24-bit/192KHz audio quality, a 114dB SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) and true 7.1-channel surround sound, all packed in USB-powered, compact and lightweight device. It also packs a built-in headphone amplifier optimized for 32-150ohm headphones and features two RCA sockets and three 3.5mm speaker sockets, one 3.5mm headphone socket, one 3.5mm microphone/line-in socket as well as one S/PDFI coaxial output.

Unfortunately, ASUS did not shed any light regarding the availability date or the actual price of the new ASUS Xonar U7 Echelon Edition 7.1-channel USB sound card.
