Call of Duty: Ghosts in 720p on Xbox One

Playstation 4 wins with 1080p

It appears that Sony's Playstation 4 has won yet another round with Xbox One considering that a quite popular Activision title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, will only be rendered at 720p and upscaled to 1080p on the Xbox One while Playstation 4 version will keep rocking the full 1080p.

Although both games will run at 60fps, there will most likely be a noticeable difference between the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One version of the Call of Duty: Ghosts and according to latest info, PC version will most likely be the best place to play the latest Activision title.

The confirmation regarding the 720p issue on the Xbox One came from Mark Rubin, which confirmed it at Twitter feed and it appears that the Call of Duty: Ghosts will not be the only title. While not officially confirmed by DICE, it appears that the same thing will happen with the Battlefield 4 game.

While it will not make much difference to casual and normal gamers that really will not notice, or simply will not care about the difference between the two at 60fps, it still gives additional ammo to Sony's PS4 marketing team to further differentiate the Playstation 4 as the better console.

It is unfortunately still not clear if the problem is in the actual Xbox One design, AMD's custom APU and the Microsoft choice or some other thing so we will still have to wait for the answer.
