While most agree that AMD had quite a successful launch with the Radeon R9 290X graphics card that placed a lot of pressure on Nvidia's Geforce GTX Titan and the GTX 780, despite Nvidia's recent GTX 780/770 price cut as well as the imminent launch of the Radeon R9 290 that would even further rock the Nvidia boat, it appears that Nvidia has an ace up its sleeve and might be working on a higher clocked GTX 780 graphics card.

According to a report over at Expreview.com, Nvidia might be working on a higher clocked GTX 780 also referred to as the GTX 780 GHz Edition. According to the same report, the new GTX 780 would have same features as the original GTX 780 but with slightly higher clocks set at 1006MHz for base GPU, 1046MHz for GPU Boost and 6.0GHz for memory. It should be based on a new stepping of the GK110 GPU, the GK110-300-B1.

The power consumption should not be much higher, according to the report, and the new graphics card could be limited to a couple of add-in card partners.
